Lichtspielhaus is the first worldwide compilation DVD by Rammstein. It was released on 1 December 2003.
The title of the DVD is a word that was used in Germany in the past about what is now called cinema. Rammstein liked this word as it showed that the content of the DVD was a piece of history, in particular their history.[1]
Content
The DVD contains all music videos that had been filmed up to that point, except for the Das Modell music video, which according to Paul was also meant to be featured on it. The DVD also contains five making-of videos, as well as some selected songs from six different concerts between 1996 and 2001. Also present are three TV commercials and one compilation of TV appearances known as Achtung Blitzkrieg!.
Formats
The DVD came as a super jewel case and as a fold out digipak. The US also had a amaray case. In early 2020 the digipak of the DVD was re-released. It has some minor changes to the original release.[2]
