Promotion

The single had mostly the same promotional CD everywhere. The cover was the same as the later retail version, but with a promotional text on the front of the cover. Unique promotional CDs were available in the USA, where it was a simple black CD and only the tracklist inlay, and in Canada, where they got a video CD with a different cover artwork.

The German promotional CD included a two-sided promotional sheet, which presented the following text:

English Deepl translation

Today, Rammstein is the biggest rock export in Europe.
Misunderstandings have been largely dispelled, integrity proven and the world conquered persistently and tenaciously. Platinum in the USA and a Grammy nomination for the best song (Du hast) already seems the Olympus of what a German-speaking band can achieve. Rammstein, however, are never satisfied with themselves. Their peculiarity in the sense of independence is even surpassed by their very German or better East German drive for perfection. While the last released work "Live aus Berlin" was a pure concert affair, the upcoming album "Mutter" was worked on tirelessly for more than a year to come as close as possible to Rammstein's goal of creating the perfect metal pop song. They succeeded! Howie Weinberg, master god of America with more than 1000 trophies on the wall, could hardly hold on to himself and immediately informed half the world that "Mutter" was a musical masterpiece. Such a thing can never do any harm. One thing we know for sure, though, is that "Mutter" is the best of the Rammstein albums. But since the master is still in production and the "Mutter" day will be celebrated only on 2.4.2001, there is a one-track CD for promotion only with the absolutely wonderful "Sonne" - because it is the most beautiful star of all - and by the way also the A-track of the pre-release single which will be released on 12.2.

Misprint

The German 2-track cardsleeve of the single has a misprint on the CD artwork, where it is printed in a much more blue-ish tone. Also the USA 1-track promotional single shows a length of 3:59 for the song, but it includes the normal 4:32 version.
