Connection to Rammstein
Rammstein's drummer, Christoph 'Doom' Schneider took his nickname from this game specifically, as he was a fan of the game series at the time.
Later, Rammstein would use the audio sample of the game's player character 'Doom Guy' screaming, as well as the sound of a shotgun reloading, also from the game, in their song Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?.
