Oh Gott - schon wieder eine neue Rammstein Single?????? NEIN! Vielmehr handelt es sich bei "Stripped" um eine exklusiv für die Tribute-Compilation "For The Masses" aufgenommene Coverversion des 1986 erschienen Depeche Mode-Hit. Das Original stammt aus dem Album "Black Celebration", landete 1986 auf Platz 2 der deutschen Charts und hielt sich insgesamt 33 Wochen in der Hitliste. Die Idee zum Tribute Album stammt vom dem US-Labe 1500 Records und wurde mit Unterstützung von Depeche Mode höchstpersönlich umgesetzt., 1500 Records ist an A&M gebunden, wo das Album auch weltweit zeitgleich mit der Single erscheint. Es ereignete sich in etwa Ende letztens Jahres, daß die Organisatoren an Rammstein herantraten und sie baten als EINZIGE deutsche Band eine Coverversion zu diesem Album beizusteuern. Das fiel gerade in die Zeit, als der Rammstein-Hype in den USA losging und noch niemand auch im Traum daran dachte, daß das Album "Sehnsucht" tatsächlich in die regulären US-Billboardcharts einsteigen würde. Rammstein als bekennende Depeche Mode - Verehrer, fühlten sich schwer geschmeichelt, verzichteten auf ihren Urlaub, um "Stripped" aufzunehmen. Herausgekommen ist eine grandiose Coverversion, die nicht nur auf dem Album "For the Masses" landete und Rammstein in die Gesellschaf von Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, Veruca Salt, Apollo For Fourty oder auch Monster Magnet stellt - nein - da jedermann bei 1500 Records und A&M der Meinung war, daß diese Version ein Riesenhit ist, wurde "Stripped" zur ersten EUROPA-Single auserkoren.
Anbei erhaltet Ihr ein Promotionexemplar mit dem Singlecut von "Stripped". Auf der finalen CD-Maxi werden sich zudem Remixe von Charlie Clouser (Mastermind "Nine Inch Nails") KMFDM und Tiamat befunden, sowie ein CD-Rom-Track mit einer Rammstein Konzertaufnahme.
Abgesehen davon, daß sich das REINHÖREN tatsächlich lohnt und "Stripped" eine ganz neue Facette von Rammstein zeigt, wird diese Single in allen Marketingmaßnahmen für "For the Masses" mitbeworben. Neben einer Riesen-Anzeigenkampagne im Wom Journal, Saturn Aktuell, dem AMM Magazin, Visions, Hammer, Breakout, Zillo etc.pp., einem Fanmailout an alle Depeche Mode & Rammstein-Fans, umfaßt die Kampagne auch eine großangelegte Plakatierung in allen U- und S-Bahnhöfen. Das Video zu "Stripped" wird Anfang Juli gedreht und wird wohl ab Ende Juli bei MTV & VIVA rotieren. Im Club genießt der Titel als erster englischsprachiger Rammstein-Song schon jetzt Kultstatus!!!!! - Und ist dabei durchaus radiotauglich.
