Gods & Gold is a song by Aesthetic Perfection. The song features Richard on guitar.

Background

  • On 25 August 2020 the band released an earlier version of the song, which did not feature Richard, but Jinxx from Black Veil Brides. In the video description a little information was given on the song:[1]

As many of you don't know, the original guitarist on Gods & Gold was Jinxx from Black Veil Brides (actually, it was Mick from Anaal Nathrakh, but that's another story). This unreleased version was mixed, mastered and ready to go for release. However, just two weeks before the delivery deadline I received stems from Richard of Rammstein that would ultimately become the final album version released on Into the Black. Each iteration has its own character and personality and I love them both.

Lyrics

Album version

Of gods and gold

There is a darkness
it breeds just hate and war
Our inner conflict
the seeds of vitriol

We're clinging to castles that crumble and fall
We die for a cause that means nothing at all
Our soul is the whole of the law
Is there no hope?

We wanna feel something, we wanne be free
We're hanging ourselves on our family tree
Our blood, it will run in the streets
Is there no hope?

For all our woes?
Will we outgrow?
Our endless war,
of gods and gold?

There is no justice
there is just rage and greed
To live with conscience
is to live on your knees

They say that salvations the price you pay
The blackness is spreading in light of the day
We're heading to hell in a blaze
Is there no hope?

We're digging our ditches and dragging them down
Loyally, royally, pray for the crown
Willfully, skillfully
Is there no hope?

For all our woes?
Will we outgrow?
Our endless war,
of gods and gold?

Gold

Is there no hope?
For all our woes?
Will we outgrow?
Our endless war,
of gods and gold?

Of gods and gold
Of gods and gold
