In my youth I was a farmer
Said and ridden was my life
No bad harvest, no sick neighbors
No, my problem was a wife
She was the devil's falling angel
But you never know before
I'm not a ripper, but I should be
And become one
Let your dreams swim in the ocean
But you wake up straight at night
Look all love is sweet devotion
My baby told me before she died
She was a mussel, her pearl was stolen
When she tumbled back on my ground
So I traded in a white shark
Gulped her down
But you know, you know
That's me
Oh yeah
In the rain I found a mirror
It explained me who I am
Ten years later it was broken
And I've got lost in a swamp
In my next life I'm an angel
I promise you, oh yeah
But now I need this tiny danger
Until I die
But you know, you know
That's me
Bullshit happens, time is wasted
Thousand stories I know from them
Take a trip with me in white knights
You will travel through them again
In my next life I'm an angel
I promise you, oh yeah
But now I need this tiny danger
Until I die
But you know, you know
That's me
Oh yeah

That's Me is a song by Russ and The Velvets featuring Till Lindemann. It is the eleventh track on the Lady Revolver album.
Information
- The recordings with Till took place in 1994 (according to the booklet) or in Winter 1995 (according to songwriter Kai-Uwe Kohlschmidt), but the song was released in 2010.
- The song can't be found on digital versions of the album, it's only available on the CD, which is out of print.
- The song was written for the short movie "Scheißleben" by Bernd Heiber, which was released in 1996. It played in a bar scene, where only losers were sitting, but being proud of their lives. None of them speaks English, which Kai-Uwe tried to show through the silly pronounced English and weird lyrics.[1]
