Content[1]
Fulfilling your dreams before you're too old to enjoy them and not letting yourself be put off if something doesn't work out - that's how you could summarize Flake's attitude to life.
In fact, his autobiography reads a little like an anarchic version of Hans in Luck: the young Flake wanders through the subcultural landscape of the GDR in the 1980s. The fact that he is, by his own admission, an anxious guy does not stop him from following his intuitions. A quasi-solo performance at the age of 13 despite a poor command of the instrument - why not? Founding a classic car rental company because you have a soft spot for old cars? Of course! Join this new evil band, even if you don't like their music at first? Hello, Rammstein!
DER TASTENFICKER is not only a funny and disarmingly honest biography of an artist, but also contemporary history made tangible. A really great book!
