In an Instagram Q&A on 2 June 2019, Peter Tägtgren stated that the album will hopefully be released by the end of 2019. He also said that it will feature the original version of Mathematik and a couple of songs from the play, but won't be an exclusive Hänsel und Gretel album.
In another Q&A Peter held on 28 August 2019, he said that maybe one or two songs from the Hänsel und Gretel play will appear on the album and there won't be a soundtrack anymore. He also revealed that the first single may come in October with the album following in November.
The two girls on the cover are Séraphine Strange and Miss Rattenstein.[1]
The standard and special edition's artwork was created by Rocket & Wink,[2] the band photography was done by Heilemania.[3] The vinyl edition's artwork was created by Anton Shyferson, Den Zozulya and Gleb Davydov.[4]
