Du riechst so gut (single)
|Du riechst so gut|
|Single by Rammstein|
|Released||August 24, 1995|
|Genre||Neue Deutsche Härte|
The single was released in two different versions: jewel case and digipack. In France the jewel case was released by XIII BIS Records. All versions include the same tracks. The digipack had a special gimmick: at a certain spot the perfume "Obsession" by Calvin Klein could be smelled, when the spot was rubbed.
There were also two different promotional versions of the single: one was a card sleeve single, which was part of the German magazines Musikexpress, and Musikwoche. The card sleeve included the title track and a demo version of "Das alte Leid". Another promotional single was part of the so called "Riech! Box". Beside the digipak of the single, the box also included a promotional sheet and a 3.5 ml bottle of "Obsession" by Calvin Klein. Everything was packed in a special cardboard box, entitled "Riech!"
On April 7, 2015 a promotional tape surfaced on eBay. It included a remix called "Tricolori Remix", which wasn't available anywhere else. But the buyer confirmed that it is the standard "Scal Remix", which was released on the single, just with a different name. Beside that, the official website listed it as "Frecce Tricolori Remix". If it is also the same remix is unknown.
The credits are a little misprinted on all versions of the single. It says "Track 2 remixed by Rewig/Spilles for Project Pitchfork 4". Actually track 3 is the remix on the CD.
On all releases DRSG is called the "Single Version". Interestingly the commercial single includes the standard album version, while the promotional card sleeve includes a version, that is 15 seconds longer.
The Remix was contributed to the single by Project Pitchfork.
The famous Riech! Box, made to promote Herzeleid, and the Du Riechst So Gut single in 1995 was released by Motor Music. Some copies of this promo box came with a Motor Music Info Card which was inserted inside of the Du Riechst So Gut Duft-Digipak inside of the box. The front and back of this info card reads as follows:
Herrlich!
P.S.: Dieses Bemusterungsexemplar ist ein limitiertes Duft-Digipack. Bitte reiben...Motor 8/95
"Tricolori Remix" is a different name for the "Scal Remix"
