They scream out from the oven's hole
the small creatures you kindled
Still screaming as they're burning on
with the fire laughing in their furs
Small creatures from the land of toys
dowsed and set on fire
A musical clock dies in the sparks
London bridge is burning down
they keep burning inside me
I hand you the torch
They sneak their way into your heads
London bridge is burning down and they
will burn inside you

Background
- The child's voice in the chorus is sung by Richard's daughter, Khira Li Lindemann.
- The band called the child in this song Gregor.[1]
- In the first version of the lyrics, the child did not survive. The band however found this to be too dark, and had Till write the child's survival into the lyrics. [1]
- Till explained: "It's the basic fear people have, to be buried alive. The toy clock that is given into the grave is what ultimately saves the child, so in the end it's a good story. Originally, [the child] was supposed to stay in the grave, but then we decided within the band that we wanted the story to end well, that we wanted the child to be saved. So even though I make the basic concept of the lyrics, the ultimate product is really the work of all of us together."[2]
