Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen? is a song by Rammstein. It is the first track on the Herzeleid album.
Background
- The song was recorded with the working title Der Bringer. The shortened form of this title, just Bringer, is sometimes still used on setlists to date.
- The lines "Sex ist eine Schlacht, Liebe ist Krieg" were used in 1991 in the song Fall by Orgasm Death Gimmick (sung in English as "Sex is a battle, love is a war").
- The song features various sound effects from the 1993 video game Doom, such as the screams of the titular character, "Doom Guy", and the reloading sound of a shotgun.
- On the majority of releases, the title is written without the question mark at the end.

Live Performance
Club Tour
As Herzeleid hadn't been released at this point, the song wasn't performed like in later tours. In fact, it was still in its demo stage and therefore known by its working title Der Bringer.
At least for the show on 27 August 1994, the song would be played without any pyrotechnics. Flashing green lights would illuminate the stage while the band, predominantly Flake and Till, would just move across it. On stage with them would be a woman dancing to the song. At some point in the song, she would hold a dildo in her hand and act shocked at seeing it. After a while, she would then put it away and continue with her performance.
Given the lack of footage from Club Tour concerts, it is not possible to say whether the song was regularly performed like this. The performances probably varied a lot from show to show.
Herzeleid Tour
Prior to this tour, the song had been released on the first album of the band, meaning it was no longer performed in its demo stage. In fact, starting with this tour, the live performance of the song would incorporate a lot of elements that would be kept over the years in the following tours.
While the lighting could vary between shows depending on the venue, a consistent element would be Till being stationary behind his microphone, holding his hands behind his back for the majority of the performance. With the line "Sex ist eine Schlacht, Liebe ist Krieg", the reason for this would be shown as Till would move his hands from behind his back to reveal that he was wearing sparkling gloves. Those gloves would then shoot out sparkle fountains while he would move his arms in circles. After repeating the mentioned line twice, the small break in the song consisting of a gun loading sound would be extended to also incorporate the sound of a gun firing while a small explosive would go off on stage. For the last "Rammstein"-chants following this, Till would take a flamethrower and shoot flames over the audience.
The song would usually be played as the last song before the encore, transitioning into a lengthy atmospheric synth outro by Flake during which the band would thank the audience and leave the stage before returning for the encore after a short break. The outro consists of parts from Flake's Gruftsong.
Sehnsucht Tour
For the Sehnsucht Tour, the general live performance of the song would remain very similar to the Herzeleid Tour by incorporating all of the previous effects and stunts like the sparkling gloves, the gunshot sound and (bigger) explosion and the use of a flamethrower towards the end of the song. Red, orange, yellow and white lighting would be used throughout the entire performance.
One major difference to the previous tour was the placement of the song in the setlist. During the Sehnsucht Tour, the song would usually be played as the show-closer.
Mutter Tour
The song was only performed for a few shows during the 2001 leg of the tour. For those shows where the song was performed, it was once again placed as the last song before the first encore, just like during the Herzeleid Tour. The performance would be nearly identical to the one from the Sehnsucht Tour, except that Till wouldn't be wearing the sparkling gloves. The stationary stance with the hands behind his back would still remain, however. The lighting would consist of red and orange like before as well.
Made in Germany Tour
After not having been played for two full tours, the song made its live comeback as a fixed component of the setlist for the entire Made in Germany Tour. This time, it would usually be played very early on in the show, as the second song, contrary to its positioning in all of the tours before. The only exceptions to this were the first few shows of the tour, including the Fanclub shows, which still had the song placed in the first encore.
Though the performance of the song underwent some changes for the Made in Germany Tour, a lot of the effects were still the same effects that originated from the Herzeleid Tour. An example being the return of the sparkling gloves, which Till would hide behind his back. This time, however, the gloves would only be activated after the gunshot-explosion break, an effect which also stems from the first album tour. While the sparkling gloves made a return, the previously used flamethrower towards the end of the song would be taken out of the performance entirely. Instead, fire fountains would shoot out of the floor in a circle around Till (2011/2012 leg) or along the stage (2013 leg).
Additionally to those new fire fountains, for the 2011/2012 leg, firework collars would be used, which would be worn by Paul and Richard and which would shoot out fireworks after the song's intro. For the 2013 leg, those collars would be replaced by a big explosion.
The lighting would also be changed from using red and orange to using white, light blue and tan.
As of now, the Made in Germany Tour was the last tour that featured the song as a part of the setlist.

Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?
Wollt ihr in Haut und Haaren untergehen?
Ihr wollt doch auch den Dolch ins Laken stecken
Ihr wollt doch auch das Blut vom Degen lecken
Rammstein, Rammstein
Ihr seht die Kreuze auf dem Kissen
Ihr meint euch darf die Unschuld küssen
Ihr glaubt zu töten wäre schwer
Doch wo kommen all die Toten her?
Rammstein, Rammstein, Rammstein
