Reise, Reise tracklist | |
Moskau is the seventh song on the album Reise, Reise by Rammstein.
Background
- The Russian lines are sung by Viktoria Fersh (Виктория Ферш).
- When performing the song live, a playback would be used for her lines.
- Originally the band tried to get the Russian girlgroup t.A.T.u. to sing on the song. Rammstein sent their manager the song and officially asked if t.A.T.u. would be willing to sing the Russian parts. After negotiating with the manager for three months, Rammstein chose Viktoria instead.[1]
- The song's basic idea has existed since the recording sessions for the album Mutter. A portion of the lyrics were taken from the unreleased song Claudia.
- Originally, the song had a jungle rhythm, but the band didn't manage to find lyrics that fit, and put it aside. For Reise, Reise, they managed to give it the Rammstein touch.[2]
- The band's label suggested to release the song as a single in 2005, however Rammstein chose to release Keine Lust instead.[3]
