Rosenrot tracklist | |
Stirb nicht vor mir (Don't Die Before I Do) is the sixth song on the album Rosenrot by Rammstein.
Background
- The song has a few different ways of writing the title on official releases.
- Standard Edition: Stirb nicht vor mir <next line> Don't Die Before I Do
- Limited Edition: Stirb nicht vor mir (Don't Die Before I Do)
- Vinyl: Stirb nicht vor mir / Don't Die Before I Do
- Initially, the song was one of the earliest Emigrate songs written during the time when Till Lindemann was still part of the project.[1] It was eventually reworked for Rosenrot together with the rest of Rammstein and to feature Sharleen Spiteri.
- Till called Sharleen to ask for the feature.[2] Originally the idea came from producer Jacob Hellner.[3]
- On 12 September 2005, the French fansite RammsteinWorld reported that Universal Music France shared the news that the French version of the song featuring Zazie would be released on the French edition of the album. And the version with Sharleen Spiteri would be released in English-speaking territories.[4]
- Contrary to popular belief, the French version of the song was not played to journalists during a press event in 2005 as no magazine mentions the song in their issue from that time. All magazines mention the same nine songs being previewed, and Stirb nicht vor mir was not among those.[5][6][7]
