- This playlist was created by the official Rammstein account on Spotify, titled RAMMSTEIN essentials.
- Initially the playlist was identical to the Made in Germany tracklist.
- The playlist was changed several times since its creation.
- 11 November 2016: replacement of Mein Land by Frühling in Paris (Piano Version) due to the release of XXI - Klavier.
- 19 May 2017: deletion of Keine Lust, addition of Intro (Live) off Rammstein: Paris to the bottom, due to its live release.
- 1 November 2018: re-arrangement and addition of Feuer frei!, Ich tu dir weh, Mein Land, Reise, Reise, Benzin, Te quiero puta!, Asche zu Asche, Bück dich, Moskau and Sehnsucht.
- 28 March 2019: addition of Deutschland to the top, due to the release of its single.
- 25 April 2019: addition of Radio to the top, due to the release of its single.
- 16 May 2019: addition of Zeig dich to the top, due to the release of its album.
- 28 May 2019: addition of Ausländer to the top, due to the release of its single.
- 4 December 2020: replacement of Asche zu Asche and Du riechst so gut with its 2020 remaster and addition of Heirate mich, Herzeleid and Rammstein to the top, due to the release of the XXV edition of Herzeleid.
- 18 July 2021: re-arrangement, deletion of Haifisch, Te quiero puta!, Frühling in Paris (Piano Version) and Intro (Live), addition of Mann gegen Mann and Rammlied.
- Starting on 17 September 2021, the playlist was getting a daily change due to the Song gegen Song survivor game in 2021; each song losing a battle was ultimately deleted.
- The playlist was replaced by Sport frei on 20 October 2021, one day after the end of Song gegen Song. Each following Wednesday, a new themed playlist premiered at this link.
- On 30 November 2021, two weeks after the fifth and final themed playlist was unveiled at this link, the playlist returned to the initial format, now simply being titled Essentials. It's now featuring the top 20 songs, sorted according to the amount of Spotify streams. Due to this Waidmanns Heil was included for the first time.
- On 10 March 2022, Zeit was added due to the release of its single and the artwork was changed to fit the new color theme.
- On 7 April 2022, Zick Zack was added due to the release of its single.
- On 28 April 2022, Angst was added due to the release of its album.
- On 24 November 2022, Adieu was added due to the release of its single.
