Puppe is the sixth song on the album Rammstein by Rammstein.
Background
- On 17 April 2019, a snippet of the song featuring only the drums was uploaded to the official Rammstein YouTube channel.
- On 18 April 2019, the lyrics to the song were shown on the official Rammstein Shop images of the album's CD edition.
- The lyrics are a reworked version of the poem Wenn Mutti spät zur Arbeit geht, released by Till in his book In stillen Nächten.
- The "dam dam" lyrics are taken from a 1965 song "Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht" by Drafi Deutscher. The band liked the idea of using this phrase in a harsher context.[1]

The song would start off with Richard and Paul playing a guitar intro. While they played, a platform would be rising up from the center of the stage. On this platform would be a giant baby carriage with a baby doll inside it, as well as Till with a camera attached to his head in the form of an eyepiece. Till would turn the carriage sideways and push it a bit to the right of the stage. He would then walk away from the carriage and start tampering with his eyepiece, usually taking it off and aiming it at his face. The result of this being that the footage would be broadcast on the stage's central monitor. Till would usually make faces at the camera before putting the piece back on. He would then continue walking around as if he were in a trance, slowly and awkwardly, before starting to sing the first verse. He sometimes walked around while sucking on his thumb, or filmed audience members or other band members before actually starting to sing. Flake would have also joined in at this point, with Olli starting to play near the end of the first verse.
Schneider would be the last to start playing, only doing so during the instrumental break between the first and second verses. When starting to sing the second verse, Till would go over to Paul and they would usually sidestep together before starting to sing the second verse. During the first refrain, Till would go to the front of the carriage again and footage resembling the baby doll inside the carriage would start playing on the monitor. After the line "Ich reiß der Puppe den Kopf ab" two flames would come out of the very back of the carriage. With two more shooting off closer to the doll, and a last pair even closer. The middle pair of flames would then shoot up again. Footage of the flames getting close the baby doll would meanwhile play on the monitor. After the line "Es geht mir nicht gut … nein" Till would move his hands over the carriage and the whole inside of the carriage would catch fire. The footage would now have the doll engulfed in the flames. While looking at this sight, Till would make circular motions with his arms in time with the guitar strums. Till would then grab the carriage once again and shake with it, then take of his eyepiece and throw it away. Only Schneider would be playing at this point, with Paul and Richard moving their hands to the music.
A small break would follow before Till started to quietly sing the third verse. The refrain would once again be heavier, and the burning carriage would at this point start shooting out black confetti. After the last line of the refrain, multiple spots at the front of the stage would start launching black confetti towards the audience. The bottoms of the towers with monitors and speakers would also have black confetti launchers placed around them that would go off at this point. Till would leave the stage early, with crewmembers coming to take away the baby carriage. Paul and Richard would play a guitar outro while walking towards each other, often ending while putting their foreheads against one another.
