Völkerball is the second live release by Rammstein. It was released on 17 November 2006.
Information
Limitation
The limitation for Völkerball was a big hoax. First pressing was limited to 30,000 pieces. But because of many people asking for a book, it was re-pressed. All pressings are numbered. So if you have number lower than 30,000, then you have the first press. The second press is every number above 30,000.
Content
Nîmes concert
The original concert in Nîmes took place on 23 July 2005. But the video on the DVD mixed it up with footage of other concerts during the tour. Sometimes you can see a ceiling, but Nîmes was an open air concert. There are many little mistakes during the video. For example Schneider hitting the hi-hats, but they seem to make no sound.
Anakonda im Netz
Anakonda im Netz is a documentary about the band. It contains interviews and filmed footage. The documentary is only included in the special and limited edition of the DVD. It was also released as a promotional DVD to the press in a cardsleeve.
The title comes from an interview segment with Till, where he says he went fishing with a friend in the Amazonas, and they caught an Anaconda.
Formats
A number of different versions of this DVD came out. This included CD sized and DVD sized packages, as well as an earbook. The standard version includes one CD and one DVD (for both sizes). The special edition comes with two DVDs and one CD (for both sizes). The earbook includes two DVDs and two CDs, and also including a 192 page photo book, which features photos from the 2005 tour, all around the world. The earbook is also numbered.
The CD of the standard and special version is missing the songs Stein um Stein, Rammstein, Ohne dich, Stripped and Outro.
